Check zoning conditions released on Resler Drive tract
Context: The second-reading ordinance rezoned the Canutillo ISD tract from commercial to residential while simultaneously releasing zoning conditions dating to Ordinance No. 15672.
Recommended: Pull Ordinance No. 15672 to see exactly which decades-old zoning conditions council just released on the Canutillo ISD tract near Resler Drive as part of the commercial-to-residential rezone; if those conditions functioned as buffers or use restrictions protecting neighboring parcels, affected owners may have had a notice or objection right this paired action bypassed.
Track task orders under El Paso's new traffic tech contract
Context: The 2026-04-01 agenda bundled an ITS design services contract award with the Chapter 380 incentive and federal grant items.
Recommended: Council approved an ITS (intelligent transportation systems) design services contract alongside the incentive and grant items — if you're a civil or traffic engineering subcontractor, request the task-order structure and any subconsultant participation requirements now, since firms that get on the approved bench early get first crack as task orders are issued.
Request tax rebate terms from Gateway Boulevard deal
Context: Council approved Chapter 380 tax rebate and grant commitments for the 8500 N. Gateway Boulevard infill development alongside the FORM375 industrial project on 2026-04-01.
Recommended: Pull the executed Chapter 380 incentive agreement for the 8500 N. Gateway Boulevard infill project to see the exact rebate percentage and investment/job thresholds the city accepted, and use it as your negotiating floor if you're pitching a comparable incentive package now that council has a fresh comparable on record.
Find out what Item 36 covered in El Paso vote
Context: Item 35 carried 5-1 with Canales opposed on 2026-04-01 after an unrelated 4-0 vote on 2026-03-17, and the minutes flag items 35/36 as bundled without describing item 36's subject.
Recommended: The minutes note 'Items 35 and 36 were taken together' on the 5-1 final vote, but only item 35's subject is described in the public record — request the full agenda packet to identify what item 36 authorized, and compare it against the unanimous 4-0 first-reading vote on 2026-03-17 to see if Representative Canales' dissent tracks to item 36 being added.
Target Escobar's office for next El Paso funding cycle
Context: Council approved seven federal Community Project Funding grant applications submitted through the Office of Congresswoman Veronica Escobar on 2026-04-01.
Recommended: Council routed seven Community Project Funding applications for public safety, transportation, and infrastructure through Congresswoman Escobar's office this cycle — reach out to her office now to get a project on the list before the next Congressional appropriations request window opens, since this session confirms she's an active conduit for city asks.
Check apartment conversion condition on Neptune Street
Context: An apartment conversion ordinance on Neptune Street advanced at second reading with an imposed condition, per the case record.
Recommended: The Neptune Street apartment conversion advanced at second reading with a specific condition attached — request the ordinance text to see exactly what it requires (buffer, parking, screening, etc.), since that condition is the only enforceable protection you'll have once construction starts.
