Wilson Goodrich stated that the subcommittee recommends that the City make sure that advertisements for job fairs and any public facing event include a statement that accommodations may be requested. Olga Barrera suggested that public events may be an opportunity for Del Mar College and TAMUCC students and instructors to practice American Sign Language as training before obtaining their certification. Following discussion on an inquiry from the City Human Resources Department, Michelle Jones stated that the Accessibility Committee can make a recommendation to the City on what kind of accommodations may be needed at events.
