Two park events are announced for March 28: Nature Con, an annual outdoor celebration at the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge, and the grand opening of a new street soccer field at Hillside Park, created through a partnership between Park & Recreation, Street Soccer USA, Visa, and Bank of America.

Celebrate nature and soccer in parks on March 28

Fort Worth Park & Recreation is partnering with nonprofit Street Soccer USA to convert an existing tennis court at Hillside Park into a free street soccer field with artificial turf, with Street Soccer USA committing up to $10,000 annually for maintenance.

The city authorizes an agreement with Street Soccer USA to design, construct, and maintain a street soccer field in Hillside Park, including fee waivers for the development and use of the field, with the city accepting the assets upon project completion.
