Open source →Following a recent retreat, city councilmembers approved launching a public-facing council priorities dashboard site to enhance transparency.
The website highlights the action items and performance metrics that City departments are actively working on in support of the council priorities adopted in 2024. It is designed to provide transparency into how departmental work aligns with Council direction and to create a shared understanding of progress being made across the organization.
Over time, this platform will continue to evolve as departments update their action items and metrics.
What are the council priorities?
Fort Worth City Council formally adopted a set of strategic priorities and goals that guide budgeting, planning and long-term decision-making. These priorities are designed to shape the City’s future — including aspects of the 2050 Comprehensive Plan — and inform annual and multiyear actions:
Economic development. Grow a strong economy by supporting business attraction, retention and job creation; improve development processes; and strengthen small businesses.
Community investment. Invest in neighborhoods, especially underserved areas; increase affordable housing access; address homelessness; and sustain cultural and recreational assets.
Community safety. Maintain and enhance public safety services (police, fire, EMS) and support programs that help communities feel safe and supported.
Infrastructure. Improve streets, bridges, mobility systems, utilities, parks and public facilities to support growth and quality of life.
Responsible growth. Manage Fort Worth’s rapid population and economic growth in ways that benefit residents, balance development and protect City resources.
The launch of the council priorities dashboard is part of a yearlong effort to publish more dashboards that enhance the City’s open data efforts. As many as 15 dashboards covering a variety of topics will be released in 2026.
