The Park & Recreation Department is celebrating two major statewide recognitions following the annual conference of the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS), highlighting the department’s commitment to innovation, inclusion and long-range planning.

Dream Club receives Lone Star Recreation Programming Award

One of the department’s recent initiatives, Dream Club, was awarded the prestigious Lone Star Recreation Programming Award. This honor recognizes organizations that deliver innovative and effective programming to meet the needs of specific communities.

Launched in 2024, Dream Club was created to serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Since its inception, the program has expanded across 10 city locations, offering inclusive programming designed to remove barriers to participation. GREENprint Fort Worth earns Planning Excellence Award
