LowLow significance — routine or procedural itemThe 1,854-tire figure from the City Hall Scrap Tire Collection is a concrete, verifiable data point, but final citywide litter totals have not yet been released, making this a partial recap. Year-over-year comparison of tire counts and volunteer registration would show whether participation and diversion volumes are trending up or down.

Residents across Fort Worth turned out for this year’s Cowtown Great American Cleanup, joining a citywide effort to remove litter from neighborhoods, parks, roadways and public spaces.
More than 3,800 volunteers registered to participate, making a visible difference in the areas they served. From individual volunteers to organized groups, participants helped clear debris and prevent it from entering streets, waterways and surrounding natural areas.
Volunteers who have not yet submitted their totals are encouraged to complete the wrap‑up form. Each report helps capture the full scope of work completed across the city. Submit your totals at www.fortworthtexas.gov/cowtowncleanup.
At the same time, residents took advantage of the Scrap Tire Collection event at City Hall, bringing in 1,854 tires for proper disposal. Each tire collected is one less tire left in alleys, vacant lots or along roadways — reducing a common source of illegal dumping and ensuring materials are handled responsibly.
After the morning cleanup, volunteers and community members gathered at Trinity Park for the annual Earth Party. Exhibitors, vendors and City departments provided opportunities to explore local programs, learn more about available resources and celebrate the day’s achievements.
The crowd-favorite Trashion Fashion Show showcased 20 creative designs across youth and adult categories, demonstrating innovative ways discarded materials can be reused and repurposed. The winning designs from this year’s show are available at www.fortworthtexas.gov/cowtowncleanup.
Final cleanup totals and event impact will be shared soon — stay tuned for the full results.
