The City of Fort Worth and Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) invite residents and stakeholders to attend the Panther Island Form-Based Code update meeting. Project staff and the consultant team will present the final Form-Based Code update and answer questions.

Meeting details:

Wednesday, June 3

6-8 p.m.

Rose Marine Theater Gallery, 1440 N. Main St.

The Panther Island Plan was adopted by the City of Fort Worth in 2004. Since then, Fort Worth’s population and economy have grown significantly, reshaping the development and community landscape.

In 2023, Panther Island Partners engaged a consulting team to update the vision and strategy for the district, Panther Island 2.0. TRWD adopted an updated Panther Island Canal System Manual that governs the design standards and guidelines for the canals and paseos.

The next step is updating the existing Form-Based Code to implement Vision 2.0 recommendations. The Form-Based Code is the City’s regulation for zoning, design standards and guidelines for private development and public spaces, and the street network that is tailored to the vision for Panther Island.

Project staff, along with a consultant team, including Livable Plans & Codes, Kimley-Horn and Side Partners, have incorporated key elements such as:

A robust open space network

Enhanced waterfront access

A more refined street network

Preservation of important view corridors
