5 Stones to share how culture and community response change healing

Tarrant County 5 Stones Taskforce will feature Kendall Reed as she explores how culture and community response shape healing long before someone ever asks for help. This facilitated Q&A invites participants to reflect on their own role in creating spaces where belief, support and empowerment come first.

Kendall Reed is the founder and executive director of Phoenix, a Fort Worth–based nonprofit providing trauma-informed advocacy and community outreach for college-aged women who have experienced sexual abuse, sexual assault, dating violence, sexual harassment and image-based sexual abuse. Phoenix’s work centers on belief-first advocacy, collaboration and culture change, recognizing that healing often begins long before someone asks for help.

Through her work, Reed collaborates closely with campus resources, community partners and multidisciplinary teams to lower barriers to disclosure and strengthen pathways to care. She also serves as vice chair of the Tarrant County Sexual Abuse Advisory Council and is passionate about building communities where no one must rise alone.

The Tarrant County 5 Stones Taskforce is a community network engaged in collaborative efforts to end sex trafficking in Tarrant County. The Taskforce functions as a coordinated, multisector collaboration that unifies various levels of government entities, law enforcement, service providers, nonprofit organizations and community stakeholders.
