The City of Fort Worth invites the community to celebrate the dedication of Henry’s Animal Campus with a special summer adoption event hosted by Fort Worth Animal Care & Control.
The event marks the official renaming of the City’s north animal campus in honor of Fort Worth’s beloved late K9 Ambassador, Henry.
For 13 years, Henry served as a tireless advocate for shelter pets across the Metroplex, helping raise awareness for animal welfare and making a lasting impact on the lives of countless animals.
Henry’s journey began in 2011 when he arrived at the Fort Worth shelter in poor health. City staff worked diligently to nurse him back to health, and with dedicated care and compassion, Henry made a remarkable recovery.
He soon became the recognizable face of Fort Worth shelters, visiting schools, hospitals and community events while helping raise funds to improve the lives of shelter pets. Most notably, Henry played a pivotal role in raising more than $1 million for the construction of a new medical treatment ward at the Chuck & Brenda Silcox Adoption Center.
Today, that facility continues to expand the shelter’s ability to care for sick and injured animals, helping save more lives every day.
Celebrate the campus renaming with an event that continues Henry’s legacy by helping even more pets find loving homes. Public safety remains our top priority, and that includes ensuring shelter pets find safety, care and their forever families.
The family-friendly adoption event will be held at Henry’s Animal Campus on Saturday, June 13.
Families can tour the campus, meet adoptable pets, enjoy refreshments and games, visit the educational kids’ corner and more. A free vaccination clinic will also be offered from noon to 2 p.m.
