Fort Worth’s aviation industry is continuing to grow as Modern Aviation announces a major expansion at Fort Worth Meacham International Airport.
What’s happening: On June 3, Modern Aviation will break ground on a new development at Meacham International Airport that will include:
A 78,400-square-foot state-of-the-art hangar
186,500 square feet of additional ramp space
8,750 square feet of office space
The new facility is designed to meet increasing aviation demand in Fort Worth and accommodate some of today’s largest business jets serving both based and transient aircraft. With 28-foot hangar doors, the facility will be able to support even the largest of today’s new jets. The development will also feature a modern, high-efficiency design focused on safety, reliability and operational excellence.
Why it matters: The expansion is expected to create jobs during both the construction phase and ongoing operations while supporting local contractors, suppliers and service providers throughout development.
The investment will also:
Expand aviation infrastructure
Help improve airport efficiency
Attract new businesses and aircraft to Fort Worth
Generate additional tax revenue and economic growth for the community
City leaders say the project further strengthens Fort Worth’s role as a major center for aviation services and aerospace development.
A closer look: Modern Aviation operates a growing network of 19 fixed-base operator (FBO) locations across the United States and Puerto Rico. FBOs provide services for private and business aviation aircraft, including fueling, hangar space, aircraft parking and passenger amenities.
The company is recognized throughout the aviation industry for its commitment to safety, customer service and operational excellence. All Modern Aviation locations are IS-BAH registered, a globally recognized aviation safety program focused on standardization and safety management systems.
What’s next: The project positions Fort Worth Meacham International Airport for continued growth in business aviation and lays the foundation for future expansion opportunities. Officials say the investment will help strengthen North Texas’ reputation as a premier destination for aviation services for years to come.
