The Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) announced its new Drone as First Responder (DFR) program. This technology-driven initiative is designed to enhance emergency response times and provide real-time situational awareness for first responders.

Using Flock’s DFR technology, the program deploys remotely piloted drones from docking stations and responds to scenes of emergencies to provide responding personnel with additional information from the piloted drone. This is designed to support faster decision-making, improve situational awareness and enhance response coordination.

Chief Eddie Garcia was joined by Flock Safety to explain how the DFR program will strengthen the department’s operations and the role emerging technology plays in modern emergency response.

At the launch, FWPD demonstrated the live drone deployment, automated dock launch and landing and real-time footage display from the drone.
