On June 2, the City of Fort Worth presented a series of proposed amendments to regulations related to data center development, including zoning, noise, water and economic development standards.
The recommendations are designed to utilize tools under the City’s regulatory authority to protect nearby neighborhoods and resources while ensuring the City can responsibly manage growth, maintain oversight and capture economic benefits.
To continue the conversation and gather additional community input, the City will host an informational open house later this month. The come-and-go event will allow attendees to visit topic-specific tables, ask questions and speak directly with subject-matter experts and staff.
Date: Tuesday, June 30
Time: 5-7 p.m. (come-and-go)
Location: City Council Lobby, 100 Fort Worth Trail
City departments and partner agencies will staff informational tables covering each major topic included in the proposed amendments and related areas of interest.
For community members unable to attend in person, an online input survey is available. Also on that page are the full recommendations, work session presentation and FAQs.
What's next
The Zoning Commission is scheduled to take action on the proposed zoning amendments on July 8 and, if recommended for approval, forward them to City Council for consideration. City Council action on the full package — including zoning, noise, water and economic development policy amendments — is scheduled for Aug. 11.
