Fort Worth Animal Care & Control is partnering with the Humane Society of North Texas to help more than 1,000 adoptable pets find loving homes at this year’s MEGA Adoption Event.

The annual event returns this weekend to the Amon G. Carter Exhibits Hall near downtown Fort Worth, bringing together more than 35 area animal shelters and rescue organizations. The event will feature adoptable dogs, cats and other small pets from across the area.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, and continues from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16.

All FWACC animals will have their adoption fees sponsored, making adoption free for families. Each animal is spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations.

Admission to the exhibits hall is free, though parking fees may vary depending on the lot.

Pets cannot be reserved in advance, so families are encouraged to arrive early. Residents can also purchase an Early Bird Fast Pass, which provides entry to the hall at 9 a.m. Saturday, giving pass holders an opportunity to be among the first to meet and adopt available pets.

Last year, 760 shelter pets found homes during the MEGA Adoption Event. Families looking to add a pet to their home are encouraged to join us this weekend and give a shelter pet a second chance at a loving home.
