Aug. 28 Update
Working together to support storm recovery, City resources have been deployed to assist with clearing and collecting storm debris from public areas, roadways and rights-of-way impacted by the August 26th storm.
In addition to City staff and regularly scheduled residential collections, WM trucks will also be in the area to support collection of yard waste and bulk waste, starting Monday, Aug. 31. Residents may continue to place tree limbs and debris at the curb.
City Drop-Off Stations will have extended hours to support storm‑debris cleanup efforts. See modified schedule below:
Saturday, Aug. 29: 8 a.m.–4 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 31: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Drop-Off Stations will be closed on Sunday, Aug. 30, and will resume regular, weekly schedule on Sept. 1.
Residents may also reach out to the 311 Contact Center, 817-392-1234, or use the MyFW app to report issues, as we work together to support our neighborhoods.
Aug. 27 Update
Fort Worth residents, particularly in north Fort Worth, experienced severe storms on the evening of Aug. 26 that resulted in damage such as fallen tree limbs, broken fences and other debris. There are several options to dispose of any storm-related debris. Regular collection services will continue; City staff are working to support neighborhoods to assist in cleanup efforts and outside of regular collections.

Debris in public areas: If you see storm-related issues throughout the city including fallen tree limbs, downed power lines or street signs in public areas such as streets, sidewalks, green spaces or parks, use the MyFW app and report it. Safety is a priority, so do not attempt to move or remove items yourself.
Curbside collections are scheduled as usual for garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulk waste. Set out your garbage and recycling carts, yard waste and bulk piles on your normal collection day.
Yard waste: Large tree branches or fallen limbs should be placed in a yard waste pile, separated at least two feet from bulk waste piles, as they are hauled and processed at different facilities. Smaller branches, twigs and leaves can go in the green yard cart or kraft yard bags.
Bulk waste: Bulk waste piles are for oversized garbage that do not fit in the brown garbage cart. Bulk waste piles should be placed at least two feet from yard waste piles and carts, as they are hauled and processed at different facilities.
Garbage and recycling: Garbage and recycling carts are reserved for small trash and recyclables, respectively. Items placed in carts that do not allow the cart lids to completely close may be subject to an overloaded cart fine. Large items should be placed with bulk waste or taken to a Drop-Off Station for disposal.
Drop-Off Stations: Residents can also visit the City’s four Drop-Off Stations to dispose of excess garbage, recycling, yard waste, bulk waste, hazardous household waste and other storm-related debris. Drop-Off Station hours of operations are:
Tuesday-Friday: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 29: 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 30: Closed
Monday, Aug. 31: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Missed collections: Due to increased volumes of storm debris, collection delays may occur for yard waste and bulk waste. Please wait until 7 p.m. on your collection day to report a missed collection, even if there is a delay and carts are not picked up during your usual time of day.
In the event of a missed collection, please:
Leave carts or material at the curb.
Report the missed collection to the 311 Contact Center, by one of the following ways:
Use the MyFW app.
Dial 311 from your cellphone.
Call 817-392-1234.
Litter prevention: Please take extra precautions to ensure items set out for disposal are properly placed in their respective carts or piles and set out curbside to reduce displaced/blown trash and debris.
