Labor Day closures and service adjustments

City offices and several public facilities will close for Labor Day, while emergency services, regular residential solid-waste collection and certain recreational amenities remain available. Trinity Metro will operate modified transit service schedules.

Most City offices, including City Hall, will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, for the Labor Day holiday. Emergency services will be available as usual.

Solid Waste collections:

Residential collections, including garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulk waste, will operate as usual on Sept. 7. Place your carts on the curb by 7 a.m. on your normal collection day. All Drop-Off Stations and the Environmental Collection Center will be closed on Sept. 7. If you have questions or need assistance, call 817-392-1234.

Libraries:

All Fort Worth libraries will be closed Sept. 7; they will reopen at their normal times Sept. 8.

Recreational amenities:

Community centers, Haws Athletic Center and the Log Cabin Village will be closed Sept. 7. These amenities will be open: golf courses, McLeland Tennis Center, Fort Worth Botanic Garden, Fort Worth Water Gardens, Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge, Marine Park Pool and Forest Park Pool.

Animal care and control:

The Fort Worth Animal Shelter’s Chuck & Brenda Silcox Animal Care & Adoption Center and Henry’s Animal Campus will be closed Sept. 7. However, the two PetSmart Adoption Centers http://fortworthtexas.gov/animals/ at Hulen and Alliance will be open regular hours. If you have questions or need assistance, call 817-392-1234.

Water utility:

To access the Water Department’s automated system for payments and account inquiries or to report an emergency, call the 24-hour call center at 817-392-4477.

Public transit:

Trinity Metro will operate modified services for Labor Day. Trinity Metro buses and Trinity Metro On-Demand paratransit services will operate on Sunday schedules. Trinity Metro TEXRail will operate on its regular schedule. Trinity Metro On-Demand rideshare services will operate on regular schedules. Trinity Railway Express, TRE LINK and CentrePort Circulator will not operate. Representatives will be available at 817-215-8600 from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. to assist customers. The kiosk at Fort Worth Central Station will be closed.

City Council:

The next meetings will be Tuesday, Sept. 15.
