Help Keep Fort Worth Beautiful give litter the boot on Saturday, Oct. 17, during the annual Neighborhood Litter Stomp! Volunteers can join together to pick up litter in neighborhoods across Fort Worth.

Participate individually or as part of a group — everyone is welcome. Choose a neighborhood, park or other public area that is meaningful to you and spend the morning picking up litter. Free litter cleanup supplies and event T-shirts are available while supplies last, so don’t wait to register.

Not sure where to volunteer? Join Keep Fort Worth Beautiful at Trinity Park. This hub is a great option for first-time volunteers or anyone looking for an easy way to participate.

Scrap Tire Collection Event

The Scrap Tire Collection Event is also happening Saturday, Oct. 17. From 8 a.m.-noon at the Hazel Harvey Peace Center for Neighborhoods (818 Missouri Ave.), Fort Worth residents can drop off unwanted tires for proper disposal and recycling. You don’t have to be a cleanup volunteer to participate.

Accepted items include:

Tires from passenger vehicles (cars, trucks, motorcycles and SUVs).

Rubber tires from small vehicles/equipment (bicycles, scooters, dollies and lawnmowers).

Rims, preferably removed from tires.

Please make sure tires and rims are free of dirt, water, oil and paint. Tires from businesses, commercial vehicles, 18-wheelers and tractors will not be accepted.
