Animal Care Advisory Committee

The Animal Care Advisory Committee is an advisory body of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, that advises the City Council and City Manager on all aspects of animal control, including fees, staffing, ordinances, procedures, policies, and facilities. Its members are appointed by the City Council to staggered terms, with preference given to representation from veterinarians and local animal welfare organizations and the remaining seats filled by community at-large members; the City Manager's representative and the Animal Care Services Manager serve as non-voting ex-officio members. The committee's role is advisory only, and it also serves as the animal shelter advisory committee required under the Texas Health and Safety Code. It works in conjunction with the city's Animal Care Services department.
