Farrah Fawcett Statue

The Farrah Fawcett Statue is a proposed privately funded bronze memorial honoring actress Farrah Fawcett, a Corpus Christi native and W.B. Ray High School graduate, on the city's bayfront. The project is led by Friends of Farrah Fawcett, a group formed by her former classmates, with sculptor David Deming creating the life-sized work and a site near the Art Center of Corpus Christi under consideration. It has come before the Corpus Christi City Council, which considered authorizing the city manager to negotiate an agreement with the group covering construction, donation and acceptance of the statue, and before the city's Arts and Cultural Commission. Organizers state the cost is being covered by private donors rather than city funds.
