Also known as: US Highway 80, Bankhead Highway, E. Lancaster Avenue

Lancaster Avenue is a historic street in Fort Worth spanning from Riverside Drive to Loop 820. Originally Fort Worth's first major highway serving as the primary route from Dallas, it was named for John Lynch Lancaster, president of the Texas and Pacific Railroad. The street was part of the Bankhead Highway (1916) and designated as US Highway 80 (1926), featuring an interurban streetcar system from 1902 to 1934. Since the 1990s, the street has experienced decline but is now undergoing revitalization through a Public Improvement District formed in 2017, with improvements including street lighting enhancements and public art installations.
