Streams & Valleys Plaza in Trinity Park is the newest community gathering space along the Trinity River and Trails.
The project was made possible through a partnership between the City of Fort Worth and Streams & Valleys, transforming an underutilized area near the southwest side of the Phyllis Tilley Memorial Pedestrian Bridge into a welcoming destination for recreation, connection and community.
The plaza features expanded trail access, a harvest table for gatherings, seating areas, a drinking fountain, native landscaping, pollinator gardens and more than 60 newly planted shade and ornamental trees. Designed to support movement, relaxation and outdoor experiences, the space strengthens Fort Worth’s connection to the Trinity River while enhancing one of the city’s most treasured parks.
The project broke ground on Nov. 14, 2025, when more than 50 community members, donors and local leaders gathered to celebrate the start of construction. Support from generous donors, including The Ryan Foundation, Gail Rawl and Emily Hudson, helped bring this vision to life.
“Trinity Park holds a special place in Fort Worth’s story, and projects like this one remind us that public-private partnerships have been shaping this park and this city for more than a century,” said Lauren Deen, executive director of Streams & Valleys. “This plaza is a continuation of that legacy — people and partners coming together to create spaces that benefit our community for generations to come.”
Founded in 1969, Streams & Valleys has been a driving force behind the development and conservation of the Trinity River and trail system in Fort Worth. Through advocacy, fundraising and public engagement, the organization helps ensure the Trinity River remains a thriving, accessible and beloved feature of North Texas.
