The Committee for Persons with Disabilities is reviewing updates to its internal operations and administration, including parking violations, 311 reporting procedures, and employment awards. These administrative items address the Committee's governance, customer service processes, and staff recognition to ensure effective service delivery and operations.

Jun 3: Staff Liaison Annika Yankee reviewed the topics under the Staff Report including ADA parking spaces, 311 reporting, CAST for Kids event, and the City's budget survey. Alison Johnson asked how ADA complaints are identified if there is no ADA category when calling 311. Mrs. Yankee stated that the complaints have to be directed to the department responsible for addressing the type of complaint. Aliza Huerta asked how ADA grievances are addressed. Alejandro Benavides asked if Solid Waste fines people who have not yet received their ADA accomodation. Aliza Huerta stated a desire for critical information, in particular, the Water Supply Briefings, to be made more accessible. Mrs. Yankee pointed out that the Office of Emergency Management has protocols for making information accessible and, in the past, the COVID health briefings were translated to ASL and Spanish.
