The Transportation & Public Works department presented proposed railroad grade separation priorities identified through the City's Master Transportation Plan to improve safety and mobility at Fort Worth's more than 200 public at-grade railroad crossings, where blocked crossings cause over 5,100 vehicle-hours of delay daily. Twenty-six potential grade separation projects are being evaluated, including the N.E. 23rd Street/Decatur Avenue Grade Separation Project.

The American Heart Association, with support from local foundations and BNSF Railway, donated Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for Fort Worth Police Department patrol vehicles as part of the national Nation of Lifesavers initiative to improve cardiac arrest survival rates.
