A historic district in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, located on the southeastern edge, representing one of Dallas's significant African American neighborhoods with roots in the post-Civil War freedmen's settlement era. The district contains primarily late nineteenth and early twentieth century wood frame vernacular and folk style houses, with some Craftsman and Queen Anne architecture. Designated as a local historic district and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it remains one of the few surviving freedmen's towns in the South retaining substantial original architecture.
